It used to be that people would get together in village pubs to talk about events, sing songs, and just converse. Today the world has gotten so big it is hard to have those same open-ended conversations. A lot of people are so distressed about all that is going on today because they only receive the one-sided news they get from the television and they don't get their chance to be heard. Soon things will be changing though. Social Media is a new frontier where people finally get to talk about and listen to what they want as opposed to being fed propaganda or being told what to listen to. I particularly love that we can get world opinions about topics from those around the world.
Local Community Board (www.LocalCommunityBoard.com) was my first step in getting the word out about small towns through the web. To make things a little interesting I started making home brew as a hobby. Through this process I have learned its not about making great beer but more about community and sharing with other people while hearing their opinions on your creation. This is just the beginning!
